EPA Union's Coalition Global Warming Letter
On November 28, 2006, the EPA Labor Union Coalition, comprised
of 22 local labor unions of the American
Federation of Government Employees, the Engineers
and Scientists of California, the National
Association of Government Employees, the National
Association of Independent Labor, and the National
Treasury Employees Union, submitted a letter to the U.S. House
of Representatives Committee
on Energy and Commerce and to the U.S. Senate Committee
on Environment and Public Works regarding global warming. (The
EPA Labor Union Coalition represents over 10,000 U.S. EPA environmental
engineers, environmental scientists, environmental protection specialists
and support staff nationwide.)
On Wednesday, November 29th, the U.S. Supreme Court
heard oral arguments in Massachusetts v. EPA, Case No. 05-1120.
Massachusetts and coalition of 11 other states led by Attorney General
Reilly requested court review of case involving regulation of greenhouse
gas pollutants. Massachusetts
